Code of Ethics Assignment

We shall demonstrate in our behavior and language respect and appreciation for the unique value and human potential of each child.  I think that I do this in that I value each child as God’s work and want the child to develop to his greatest potential.  I may not be the person who leads the child down the path of his fullest potential but I can start him on that pathway.
We shall engage in ongoing and systematic reflective inquiry and self-assessment for the purpose of continuous improvement of professional performance and services to young children with disabilities and their families.  Researching and collaborating with colleagues to find and learn new or more appropriate ways of helping a child with disabilities is an important task that I am pursuing continually.  I look for ways to assist families and children live to the fullest with disabilities.  I have a disability and two of my children have the same therefore working with children with disabilities is very real and foremost in my work.
We shall demonstrate our respect and concern for children, families, colleagues, and others with whom we work, honoring their beliefs, values, customs, languages and culture.   I have the opinion that this is a continuing process that I do each day as I work with the children, speak with family members, work with colleagues and anyone else with whom I have contact.  Respect and love are values I hold high in my thinking and even if I disagree, I will not disrespect that person, child or colleague.
I did not find many differences in value of either article. The NAEYC is more detailed and divided a little different.  The base values are the same.
